Courtesy of Wikipedia: "Crassula ovata, commonly known as jade plant, lucky plant, money plant or money tree, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and Mozambique; it is common as a houseplant worldwide.

Much of its popularity stems from the low levels of care needed; the jade plant requires little water and can survive in most indoor conditions."

I thought the second part of the name sounded kinda cool, despite it being latin for 'egg shaped'. My plant has always brought me luck and thankfully it's hard to kill.

Ok - so that's the name, what's the rest of this shite? Mainly it's a place for me to explore ideas, try stuff, break stuff and attempt to fix it. Please excuse the lack of ideas ;p.
I have full root on this box (!vps || shared_ip) and I hope I've done a reasonable job at locking it down - so, feel free to try and deface it - I'll even make a hall of fame for those that are successful. I miss Zone-h.

The internet has been my refuge since around 2002, a lot has changed and I'm still kicking myself about the many tech waves I could have surfed if it wasn't for the allure of pretty ladies, loud music and monumental intoxication. Alas - no fucks given - Dionysus would be proud.

If nothing else I want it to be the reason I try and keep up to date with technology right now, on the cusp of the single most important moment of our evolution to date, probably as significant as the invocation of words, or harnessing fire to arrive at this point.

We are in the era of Prometheus 2.0 - Artificial Super Intelligence - a term, at least the latter part, which was previously limited to the domain of providence, like fire in v1.0.

I for one, welcome our new robot overlords.
Failing that there's always whiskey, ak47s and analog pornography.
